I have recently come to own a 1988 Crest III 24' Pontoon. As you can imagine, the furniture is in need of being replaced as well as the deck. I have found numerous places to supply all the accessories, furniture, canopy, etc. I am open to any other links of more affordable items if anyone has a line on them.

My question is with the deck. I have figured out that standard exterior and PT ply are really not going to work. My issue is that I am just not a fan of marine carpet. Just like carpet in your house you get dirt stuck in it. Over time that carpet will rot and you have to replace the marine ply over again. I was wondering if anyone here knows of or has used an alternative to Marine Plywood? Aluminum decking, composite decking, vinyl, etc; or should I just conform and go with the marine ply and carpet? I have heard that you can use Rhino Liner and paint it over as a floor covering or that there is even a marine grade vinyl for easy clean up. Just not sure what will give the best performance/ appearance and help protect the deck long term.

Boats location will be under a covered shed and will not be stored over water. Will have covers for all seats and then one over the entire boat for travel/ storage.

Any information. insight will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Pontoon Boat Restore

1. Marine vinyl flooring cover is available everywhere.

2. Pontoon furniture is available here on iboats. Best prices you'll find.

3. Flooring? Any good plywood is OK. Paint both sides and seal any openings (screws, etc).

As the co-owner of two "toons" I speak from experience.

exterior or marine plywood. NO pressure treated, chemical will react with the aluminum , and fasteners every where there is contact.
