Absolutely, it is your boat, you can do whatever you want to it.
Tha problem comes when putting lights on the outside.
If you have the wallet look into some LED lights, they last forever and use very little power and run cold.
I have seen alot of guys on here install rope lights, they aren't super bright but if you get enough of them they work really nice.
Jump into the iboats store, I am sure they have a ton of options.
One thing to watch is if you are only running a starting battery and don't go with LEDs you could run the start battery dead so maybe look into installing another battery.
