Pontoon Gate Hinges On Boats 2003 And Older May Not Have A Very Important Safety Guard Installed. These Hinges Amputate Fingers.
If You Know Someone With A Pontoon Please Tell Them To Ask A Dealer To Install Guards. Just Want To Inform Folks. My Grandson Was 4 Years Old When The Gate Hinge Ripped His Finger Off. It Has Happened To Many Many People. On All Different Makes And Models, Which Is Why The New Ones Have Guards.

Ok, well I still don't understand how piano hinges can chop off a finger, guard or no guard.

Also, if this had been going on since the 80's, and was as prolific as you claim, mfg's would have been out of business long ago due to the multi-million dollar lawsuits that would have been flying around.
