pontoon leak

i have a pontoon that was patched and now has cracked where it looks llike was patched with J B weld . is there a simple fix other than welding

Other than welding? JB weld. If it is a travelling crack you might want to drill a small 1/8" hole at each end of the crack to prevent it from traveling. Re-fill the holes with aluminum rivets and coat with jb weld.

You could in theory patch the area with aluminum, 3m 5200, rivets and jb weld.

Just my opinion but getting it welded by a pro welder now before it gets out of hand would be a big ease on your mind and probably save you money in the long run.

normaly aluminum cracks do to the hardening effect of vibration, it would be wise to compleatly remove the affected area and replace it, any welder should be able to repair it fairly reasonable, make sure there is no water inside the capsule
