Pontoon plug

I have a 2003 Crestliner 18' pontoon boat and there is a threaded plastic plug (with a hole through it into the pontoon) at the backend of the pontoon near the bottom. The plug broke off and the pontoon was taking on water. It appears it all drained out when I took the boat out of the water.

This seems like a very poor system, however, where can I find a replacement plug preferably not plastic? How will I get the broken off piece out of the pontoon?

Thanks

Re: Pontoon plug

you should be able to get a new plug at any hardware store or marina. the plastic plug should be easy enough to drill out.

It's plastic -- Drill a hole in it and use a propane torch to melt it out. Buy a replacement plug in the plumbing department at nearly any hardware store or home improvement store. Stay with plastic -- it doesn't corrode.
