Hey everyone,
I’m reworking a 97 18ft pontoon. I’d like to put two 12gal tanks on the back one on each toon with a T value to switch between the two tanks. The trays that the tanks would sit in are 1 1/2 inches short for the tanks to sit in them.

So this is my question,
are there any kind of regulations on the tank trays? As far as the tanks needing to be sitting in one or can I figure something else out and it be okay?
Also anyone else use a T value to switch between tanks? Pros cons?
Thanks!

1. 12 gallon tanks are incredibly heavy when full. Heavy enough where loading and unloading them will be something nobody will ever look forward to.

2. Then, there the fact 18' pontoons don't like a lot of weight back there to start with.

I would suggest that even with hard use, a single 6 gallon will last through an entire day powering a 40 pretty easily. With more typical use, a 40hp 'toon can make a 6 gallon tank last for a week....
