I am a complete newb, and I've had a 22 foot 2006 suncruiser for a few years that needs a complete rebuild. I live on the water, so it floats year round, and comes out of the water once or twice a year for a deep cleaning/de algaeing. I've been really torn about restoring it. All of my seats are garbage, and the floor coverings need to be replaced. The floors are sturdy, but the corner bumpers are gone and the plywood is separating on the corners. I ordered a new interior sans floor covering from pontoonstuff this week.

My quandry is that, before I bought it, a pontoon manufacturer went out of business a few years ago, I snagged a couple on the cheap, and built a 24 foot aluminum frame, decking it off with some 3/16 sheets of aluminum my dad had in his shop. I have enough rino liner in the shop to paint the aluminum deck. That build stopped when I got a great deal on the suncruiser. The build is just sitting in a shop yard, and I cant decide whether to restore my current boat, or to sell it and continue the build from scratch. If I restore mine, I'll have a like new boat, but if I build the other, I'll have a completely new boat. Anyone have any experience in the pros and cons of a from scratch build versus a restore?
