We have 2013 Sylvan 8520 (20' 10" X 8.6') pontoon boat. We have an electronic boat lift. The rods that lift the straps are 10 feet apart.

There are 2 canvas straps (about 5" wide), with an adjustable centre strap that was under the centre of the V hull of my previous power boat (previous boat was about 2700 lbs, so we know the straps can handle the weight of the pontoon).

We would like to know if this would work, and not do damage to the pontoons, if we were to store the boat in the slings, when not in use, to keep pontoons clean.

Winter we planned on lifting it up via the straps, and resting it down on two 6x6" beams, and we would get boards to run vertically from each of the 6x6's.
Can we store the boat in the straps without causing damage to the pontoons?
For Winter is it OK to store on 6X6;s?

I put my tritoon in and lift it out using a hoist with two 6" straps and have had no problems.

Thank you. Do you actually leave the pontoon in the straps hanging when not in use, or do you lower it onto blocks>

I set it on a 3 bunk trailer and take it home,or to travel / vacationing. The reason I do this is because we have few nearby quality ramps. We belong to a club and they only charge a dollar a foot to use the hoist.I would think if you could find some way to use three straps of equal length that would be even better. One other thing is my boat (the wifes) is probably heavier than yours it's 24' long with a 250hp motor. We don't unload any gear and it has a 39 gallon fuel tank ( I think it's 39 )
