My 2000 21ft fishing barge is contacting both left & right trailer fenders when trailered. Not huge-- but definitely contacting. Anyone else have this problem? I do not want to raise the bunk height due to launch/retrieval depth considerations.

An and all responses greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mucho

Have you changed tire sizes, If not then your springs are weak. Or your over loaded.

MH Hawker: Thank you for our response. Please note that the pontoons are touching the trailer fenders independent of the suspension. The pontoons are resting on the trailer bunks which are attached to the same trailer frame as the fenders. It is as though the bunk height is too low from the manufacturer or the bunks have all "sunk" simultaneously -- which is statistically improbable.

Thanks again,
Chile

Maybe launch the boat then raise the bunks if there is an adjustment? How about thicker bunks? or double bunks?

I had the same problem. I had to put a 2x6x6" under the bunks to raise it up enough so it would clear. I used 2x6 for bunks so you can use 2x4's. Keep in mind, you are only raising it 1 1/2 inches. Took awhile to drill them out, as you can't just go through the top and hit the hole, and unless you have a 90 degree angle drill, you will have a hard time going up underneath. I countersunk the carriage bolt heads into the top of the bunks, so they would not rub the toons. Hope this helps.

Is there room to lower the fenders without being too close to the tires.
Perhaps move the fenders outward enough to clear .
