Re: Pontoon trailer rental??? LOTO
the suggestion of using a boat shop is the best one.
but an alternative in a situation like this, since many people don't want to lend or rent a trailer, is to go buy a used one with the handshake agreement that the seller will buy it back from you (less a charge) if it comes back in good shape and within a certain time. That eliminates his risk that something will happen to the trailer on your watch, he makes a few bucks, your problem is solved, and your risk if he backs out is that you sell the trailer yourself.
A friend of mine did this when he blew the engine in his suburban on the first day of a 10 day family-of-six driving trip. He left his car with a mechanic to replace the motor, bought a used Suburban from him, returned a week later and sold him back the car and took his repaired car home. Smart thinking.
