Poor throttle response

I have an 86 Evinrude 30hp that I am having a problem with. Engine seems to run fine but when I take off from a dead stop I have to really ease into the throttle otherwise it just wants to bog out. The problem seems to be getting progressively worse. My first thought was a fuel problem. Any suggestions?

check your timer base and insure that it is not sticking. This is the exact thing that was happening to me.
