Please see the attached photo. The tile I'm using only comes in a single bullnose. For the life of me I just can't figure out this cut for each of the top corners. Any tips you can provide would be very much appreciated!

2 choices

Cut a square, single sided bullnose piece to fit, and take a tile stone or grinder to it to round over the edge by 'hand', but that leaves an unglazed edge.

or

Cut a right and a left edge bullnose piece at a 45* and butt joint them across the diagonal middle of the corner. You could cut a right side 45* bullnose off the right end of 1 of your bullnose pieces and cut the left 45* piece of the left end of the same piece.

You'll need to be very careful when cutting the 45s, you dont want to fracture the pieces along the 45* seam. That'll make it stand out even more the diagonal seam will already...

Assuming that the missing piece needs to be perfectly square. It the countertop corner is slightly off after tiling, you may need to make 2 44* or 46* pieces, but make them the same....

Like this:

If you can cut them cleaning, you could leave a typical sized grout joints between the 2 45* pieces.

Good luck

You should be able to buy 1 inch square with bullnose of two of the edges, I know home depot and lowes both carried them, cause I have a box of them in the garage that I bought to do the surround on our hot tub, if not, then drop by a tile shop and they should be able to do some for you and seal them correctly.

Well since you stated that you are using porcelain type tiles, you are in good. Porcelain tiles are the same material all the way through. So even when you cut such a piece, the exposed tile will have the same look as the other edges. And you can easily taper or round over the cut piece with another piece of tile used as a sanding block. Been there and done that! JMHO!

No Title

Mitering the corner works fairly well if you can't get the proper double-bullnose piece.

This looks better in real life:

Yep ^^^

And RC already said his tile choice isnt available in a bullnose. He may have titled this topic Porcelain, but the tiles are ruddy brown beneath the mulato tan glaze.

+ another on the miter cut.

Did a tile job in the bathroom that I started without having thought it through properly.
Had to change direction 90 degrees 5 times. Ended up doing the 45 degree miter joint approach and when grouted it looks fine....really good even.
