I have a 1992(2002WA). Along the walkaround on both Port and Starboard sides just pass the cabin area there are two screw in access panels. What are these for and do they ever have to be left open?

Pics?
You can't be talking about the Portlights. I have the same boat and these sound aftermarket.

No these are round panels just below the front rail along inside gunnel about 4feet from anchor storage on both sides. I.ll take a better pic tomorrow.

Right, they were definitely installed after. The previous owner obviously needed access to something and I'm not sure why.

They don/t look like aftermarket. Almost like vents. but you would have to take caps off for vent.

Yep, as I thought, those deck plates are not supposed to be there, and wouldn't serve any function other than to fish some wire or something through. They are just standard deck plates that you can buy for like $10 at any marine store. They are not vents. In fact, if those deck plates leaked, the water would go straight to the bilge.

Not good, any Idea what can be done. They don't seem to leak. I didn't see any wiring when I looked inside. I think I will try and contact the previous owner and ask him.

I don't think I'd worry about too much water intrusion. Because they are not mounted horizontally on the walking surface, even if they did leak, most of the water flows down to the walk around surface and back to the cockpit. Hopefully, when the outer bezel was installed, they used 3M 4200 on the ring and screw holes. You could just silicone the plates to the bezel (just in case you did want access for some reason at some point).

Re: Port and Starboard access caps

Since I've had my Trophy, I've installed a new access hatch, coaming pads, swim platform, VHF DSC radio, Chartplotter/Sonar, helm seats, jump seats, hydraulic steering, hydraulic trim tabs with electonic indicator, new cuddy upholstery, just to name a few.

I just saw the other photo of your boat. What condition is your tackle drawer in? Mine was not up to my standard so I did this:

Well from the outside it looks OK. Not real happy with the drawers, they don't slide all that well, kind of a waisted space. Would of rather had just a storage space!

Just like mine, still not sure why they have them. They open to the cuddy cabin area.

They are not factory, and are put on there to access the mounting hardware to the rail stanchions. Try to reseal the stanchion bases, and you will know why they are there...

Tried to Google Barewest Radar Arch and got zip. Is that a correct spelling??? I'm very interested in putting a Radar Arch on my 1995 2002 W/A.
