You mean a jump pack? I never believed in them. They are simply a newer battery than you have now. What happens when you replace the battery in the boat? Do you replace the jump pack, or let it get old? Batteries wear out even if not used.

I consider a jump pack as a back up to your old battery with another battery that gets old, and bounces around the boat when in use.

Many folks believe in them however.

I wouldn't get one of the older style jump packs.
The newer Li-ion packs are worth getting.
Keep it plugged in so it is always topped off.
I've used mine to jump start v8's in -10*F weather.
Mine is a NOCO.
There are cheaper ones.

1000Amp, 2000Amp, or 3000 amp

I always believe that maintaining on board batteries correctly is the answer. Why would you expect to drain your batteries? Is there a problem that needs addressed?
Jump pack is just extra stuff on board in my opinion.
