I've had my little boat for a year now and have been wanting to take a trip from the Vancouver side of I-5, up the Willamette, to downtown Portland.

I'd love to take my kids down to the Waterfront Park area, tie up, and grab some lunch.

Anyone here have experience with that part of the river?

Anything I should be aware of?

Locations of gas and/or public docks in the Portland are would be greatly appriciated.

It will be a great litte trip, the Willamette is a bit dirty but there are no major concern's to worry about. You just missed the summer blues festival it was simply a outstanding event.

All the blues you could ever want on the water a view of the skyline on dead still water 80 degree's and no wind.... just a little congestion. As to gas i believe there is only one marina on that trip right out in front of the airport on the columbia. Its only a five a six mile journey there should be no gas issues.........as to food ive never dined from the river ive always tried to get away from portland.

You might want to look @ going up river to the coast you have no ideal how many people do that . There are a lot of marina's and campsites both private and public. and a very secenic trip

Also....the marina with gasoline, is it the yellow building? That's where I usually stock up, when I'm on the river.
