Possible Fuel Leak???

Hello All,

Well I am new to the boating world and this forum. I have loved it so far. I just picked up a 1998 Maxum 1800 XR with a 1997-98 120 hp Force 4 cyl. 2 stroke engine. It had been sitting for 2 years and hasn?t been started since. Well it started right up this weekend, however I noticed that fuel was leaking out of the bottom of the two silver parts in the front (See pic attached). I think these are the cylinders right? I dont know much about boat engines. I have been told that it is normal for a boat engine to leak fuel/oil. But it seems to be a lot of it. How much is normal if at all?

Thanks,
Jon

Where exactly is it coming out? If its coming out of the throut {round hole in front} you will have some come out when you stop not a lot. If coming out when running no good. if coming from bowl on bottom no good there is a gasket on bowl.

Its coming out of the little hole on the starboard side of the carburetor when the engine is running. not a steady stream but not drips either...it spits out off and on about every second if not faster...

Oh ok. Thank you very much. Yeah I will be getting a manual...never hurts to have one. I just started ripping out the deck last weekend, so once I get that going and pretty much done, I then jump on the engine. Thanks again for your help.
