possible thermostat problem

I've got a new 09 Bayliner 175 with a 3.0 and 9hrs.

Yesterday I ened up basically on a sand bar. managed to trim up quite a bit and get off but upon just getting off my temp went slightly up, then down, back to middle then drop to under 100 and stayed there.

This happened at 6 hrs, no other issues with engine or drive, other than then fin under the prop got a little nicked.

Sounds to me like the stat got stuck open, gauge works, I tested it.

Any suggestions or ideas? The dealer says it not covered under warranty (understandable), they can't get me in until next Monday so i'm thinking of just doing it myself.

Re: possible thermostat problem

Ayuh,... I'd replace the Impeller, And the T-Stat...

The T-Stat probably has Crud in it,+ No Doubt the impeller got chewed up by the grit...
