Three weeks ago my riser (or manifold) failed on my 99 Stingray. Temp gauge was at 240*. Got her home and took the riser off. Low and behold two out of the three passageway's clogged w/rust.

Found replacements on ebay that were in AWESOME shape for $200. Replace them.

Now, for preventive maintenance I'm going to replace the thermostat as well. Upon taking off the big hose the water that came out was black and rust chips everywhere. took the t-stat housing off and the t-stat looked like crap. I'm betting all parts are OEM.

Is there a way I can flush the block w/a hose so I can get whatever crap is in the block out???? Since I got her so hot I'm also changing the oil, outdrive and impeller again. Just did this 6-7 months ago.

Thnk u so much. As for drains, where are they and approximately how many are there? I don't have a complete service manual, just the paperwork from when boat was purchased.

there is a plastic threaded plug (if you are looking motor from the front) on the right side, lower side of block.

Thnx for your help.

Wade, Inline motors have at least one plug on block and one on manifold. V engines have at least two on block and two on manifolds.
You might clue us in on what you have.

Ayuh,.... There are atleast 2 drains,... 1 on the Bottom of the Manifolds,+ 1 on the block, Under the manifolds...
