Possible water leak

hey guys first time here. I have a 135hp mercury optimax outboard and I replaced the impeller today. I have a good stream coming out but also have water coming out of the anode (I think that's what it's called). I'm not sure if this is normal or if I caused a leak. I have attached a picture you can see the water coming out. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Probably excess water from the pressure in you garden hose,.
The water will find whatever way out that it can.

That being said, the water exiting the telltale could also be from the garden hose pressure.
You really don't know if the impeller is working properly until you put her in the water.
