Post for flame arrestor broke off!!!

The post bracket on my carburetor broke off leaving me no way to attach the flame arrestor. Has anyone else run into this and found a cheap solution. I'd rather not have to buy a new carb and I haven't been able to find the top by itself for sale. I am a welder but this is an aluminum alloy and due to its shape, it is nearly impossible to weld before gravity takes over.

Can you remove the top and use the alumiweld brazing rods?

What carb do you have ? If its a mercarb this may work
