I recently bought a keel gaurd(black) for my boat ( off white )...
wondering how dumb its gonna look... or how cool it will look.. or if its just looks ok.

I honestly don't think it's gonna matter match. I bet it'll look fine.

i just did yellow on yellow, and it literally is an almost dead on match.

I have been considering doing one of these on my rebuild however I have not heard how good they are. How many people abuse these things as they say you can by running up in rocky areas or a concrete boat ramp even? I do not have a problem spending the money if I can use it as they say and not have any concerns. Don't get me wrong I do not want to TRY and damage it but they claim I can do things that I would not normaly do because of damage or even scratches I really do not want on my boat.

Any input on how you guys are using the boat different with this compared to before?

Sorry to hijack a thread. Has anyone put a keel guard on a fiberglass that has been bottom-painted w/ Unepoxy Plus? Just wondering how the peel-n-stick holds to the heavy copper paint??

Well, I wanted to get an almond one... but several of the boat dealers here made the comment that they will scuff and show a lot of wear.. and they all actually will not sell colored ones... so I bought the black one... I may tape it up and see how it looks.... My boat has some scuffs on the keel.. and a couple nics in the gel coat... so I plan to fill the nic and sand out some of the scratches and put this on over it.. Hopefully it wont look too dumb... I may even go on up to a press fit V shaped keel gaurd.. 500$ They look a ton better... but dont want to shell out the coin for it.

Here's some pics of mine, you either love it or hate it, but it serves the purpose well, I often tie off on steep cliffs to climb up out on shore, I beech it too usually either clay mud or sandy mud, but the rocky ledges wreck the gelcoat rather quickly above the bow eye, the guy that I bought the boat from boated the same areas, my full length keelguard is way easier on the eye than the gouges under it.
