Re: postive wire to coil heats up
I don't know what you did with the alternator, but i would have used the same one wire wise i was replacing.
The ground clean, follow the neg cable to the ground bolt remove clean shiny the connection, the bolt.
First disconnect the battery before cleaning any connections.
Than follow the postive wire to where? The starter?
Clean all those connections.
I am assuming you have good clean cables and good clean connections to the battery.
The main plug it clean?
Now the problem with starting or shutting off while on the water.
I believe you were running on the water and it just cut off the motor?
You had to wait till the motor cooled down to start up?
It cranked and cranked but the motor wouldn't start?
How many times has this happened?
First you have a kill switch pull the wires on it and tape them till after you find the problem.
If you want to re-install the wires after fine.
Run the boat and post the result.
