Hey guys/gals,

Newbie here!!

Looking for some help on this boat that is listed on C-list. Few questions:

Appears to be a holiday model or SS, would you concur? Does the trailer seem to short for the boat?

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/boa/1585429793.html

The price seems a bit high but I think a bit of negotation could take place... Not sure I want to buy in the middle of winter as I can't take it for a ride. Not sure a dealer would be able to run a tank test on the motor especially with the temps below 32 degrees.

any thoughts would be appreciated!

It's fiberglass so it's neither an SS or a Holiday. The trailer does look a little short. Looks pretty nice.

I am surprised to hear you think it is a fiberglass hull... Guess I will have to call the seller and get the specifics.

It's not that he thinks it's fiberglass, we know it is fiberglass and there's no ifs, ands, or buts about it. None of the aluminum starcrafts have a raised top area like that.

Haha! I'll tell you when I finish my restoration and can get out there. It is only 2 miles from my house.

Hummmmmmmmmmmmm I usually fish alone and have never fished Possession Point. Mabey I might need a ,,boatless guide the 1st time. My 22 holiday is a well maintaine and a very fast boat . I have never done a thing to it since I bought it 3 summers ago. My son works in Mukilteo for Travis Industries. He is there Human Resource person. What Starcraft do you own ?

I'm actually not sure. I thought it was a 16' Jupiter but I have 3 knee braces at the transom, and all the jupiters I saw only have 1. Maybe a Nassau? Or some obscure starcraft of unknown name and origin. Title just says 1974 Starcraft runabout. I think it might not even be the original title, since the windshield looks like a 60's era starcraft and it lacks the coast guard plate that's been required since the 70s.

To the original poster...it's a 'glass rig for sure. The red area indicates a cap that can be removed during restoration. Not sure of the model(I'm a tin can guy myself) but this is a link to some Starcraft brochures to browse thru.

The '74 brochure is in there, should help get a positive ID.

Sounds like a Nassau based on the 3 knee braces. iboats member Bob_VT has a Nassau and he thought it was a Jupiter for a bit. There's not much different between the hulls, I think the bow pitch on the Nassau is a little sharper than the Jupiter as well.

I've got a 63' Jupiter 16' with 3 knee braces. It says plain as day, "Jupiter" on the hull ID plate. Rated for an 80 hp.
