Recently purchased a new Tracker Pro Guide V17, nice boat, roomy and fits my needs perfectly, but... The reason I am posting this is I ran into a problem during the purchasing process, Tracker boats advertise nationwide pricing so you can rest assured the price you see in their catalogues or online is the price you pay at the dealer, except differences in sales tax for your zip. What happened is I purchased directly from a Tracker dealer and during the process I went online to check available upgrades on the Tracker site.

While browsing their site I priced the same boat out equipped the same as the dealer had it, but there was a difference in the price around $700. After checking the dealer invoice against Trackers I found the dealer was charging me more for Freight and Setup. Tracker gives you a price for Freight and Setup if you type in your zip code and from what I understand that is what you pay at the dealer. I confronted my salesman with the difference and he acted like he knew nothing about it, after taking it further to the dealer manager I could tell they were probably not supposed to mark up things. He then offered to give me the Freight and Setup charges Tracker quoted but only if I gave up a special promotion the dealer was offering. I then told him to take his promotion stick it where the sun dont shine and put the Freight and Setup at what it was supposed to be, which he did.

I contacted Tracker customer relations and talked to some airhead that didnt really have a clue and she told me it was probably something I just had to work out with the dealer, then directed me to another number where I left a message but never have received a return call. I believe the dealer was probably marking this up in violation of his agreement with Tracker but I would have expected Tracker to show more interest in my concern by getting back to me before now. If you are considering a Tracker boat, go to their website and price it out, print it and then take it to a dealer making sure they are not marking things up.
