I am looking to purchase my first boat. I will be using on the intracoastal waterway in Southern North Carolina Coast -- Southport - Lockwood Folly River, etc. Any suggestions on boats. I have looked at both Bay boats and Center Consoles and was debating between a 19ft Sea Fox or a 19 ft Penn Craft. Not sure if Bimini or Tee Top. I want to do intracoastal fishing and pleasure riding. If off shores only about 3 miles. All info greatly appreciated.

Re: power boats

would go with a center console with moderate to deep v. closed transom if possible. 20-22' would be a little more comfortable.

Re: power boats

Bay boat goes well with an electric trolling motor on the bow, is this important to you? Sea Fox is well known, almost never see any posts on the Penn Craft. Other affordable brands would include CapeCraft/KeyLargo/PalmBeach (same builder), C-Hawk, May-Craft, Polar, Sea Boss, and Sea Chaser. Differences will be in the details, examine them for yourself.
