Hi all,
Just got the boat in the water after three years of working on it.
I have a 18.5 Airslot with a 75' Johnson 115. I have replaced the plugs and water pump. The carbs were pulled off and cleaned right when I got the boat. I put them back on , but the engine hasn't been run until recently.
I put fuel and oil for the first time in It the same day I put it in the water. I ran it at the house with no issues. It ran steady and I eased it into gear.
Once I got her in the water and cranked she ran fine with the warm-up lever up. Every time I tried to lower the warm-up lever it would shutdown. If I tried to ease it into gear it would shut off.
If I push it straight into gear It would go. I ran slow for a little while no problems .
Once I got it going it would run on a plane all of a sudden it would lose power and I could power down and keep it running, if I didn't it would shut down.
It did this for the whole time while I was on the water. I thought my fuel line for my fuel/water Seperator was too short as it would kink.
I got it back to the dock safe and sound
The next day I changed the fuel line and it made it longer so there was at least one loop.
The next day it would not crank except for a minute. I was able to crank it out of the water just long enough to flush the engine.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can start?
Thanks for the help!
