I have what I believe is a 1976 Fiberform Monterey 18' I/O that is basically a hull only. I am looking at using a Mercruiser Alpha drive, but would like to do something a little different. Is there a bellhousing that will let you connect a Chrysler 318/360 to this drive? If not is there an adapter plate that would work instead? I am very new to how boats are setup so I could use some advice. I would like to figure out how to make the Magnum series motor work in a boat. I am not that worried about how to set up the fuel injection as I deal with electronics for a living and am pretty familiar with how the Dodge Ram that I have works. That won't be the problem, getting the engine to mate to the outdrive is my concern. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Re: Power options

Ayuh,.......

Basically,....... Unless you own a Foundry,+ a Machineshop,.........

It Ain't gonna Happen..............

Alphas like being bolted to Chevies,....... You can Sometimes weasel in a Ford,..........
But,.....
The Parts just don't exist to marry a Dodge to an Alpha,........
Nor any other Mercruisers for that matter........

Btw,...........
You'll be needing Water Jacketed Exhaust Manifolds too.................

Ohhhh,..... Here's an Idea for ya,.......
I've got 2 copies of the Only outdrive I've ever known to be attached to a Dodge,.........

They've got twin 318s hung on the other end,........
Not knowing much about a Dodge,.... This still might not help in the Exhaust Issue.........

1969 DanaDrives..................;)
