power pack, coils, or ??????

Can a power pack be intermittent on just two cylinders or did two coils go bad fouling just two plugs? If I change them it runs great and some time later I loose RPM. First problem I have ever had with her.

I'm thinking switch the coils with to others and see if the other plugs go bad or if it stays on the original two plugs.

Compression is fine, same as this spring time check.

Things I replaced, just to replace and make better.
New starter, Rebuilding old one to have on hand for emergencies.
Added a marine pro charger and second battery
Second bilge pump through-hull for redundancy
Changed throttle cable from 16' to 14' adjusted to set RPM good and adjusted throttle arm screw/bolts a little.

Re: power pack, coils, or ??????

I've got an ohm meter, but how do I check if the issue is an intermittent issue? I'm getting good spark. Wouldn't that be the same as using an ohm meter to verify it's working. It's working, Just not all the time. Like every hour or so it fouls out.

Just buy two new coils for $60 and see how it runs?

If it's the power pack then I wasted $60 bucks.

What ohm value should I see? I don't have a manual, but sounds like I'll need to buy one with the coils.

Since I have you chatting, Where do you recommend buying a power pack? It's a pricey item. I figured I'd just spent a couple extra bucks and get coils locally though. I just ask because I got a $200 starter online for $69 at DB Electric, and it had great reviews.

Thanks for your thoughts

Re: power pack, coils, or ??????

ah ha!!!! 450-550 ohms got it

:)

UPDATE:

I put the ohm meter on the power pack terminal and the plug terminal of the coil. I got 1 ohm (almost all the way over) on the ohm meter with the engine off. It has roughly the same continuity as solid metal. Am I supposed to have the engine on and the power pack side attached to get 450 to 550?

I got the same on the good coils too???
