power pack cross-over...do it fit?

i need tech help. i got ***** on ebay...again. i have a 1984 erude 150. bought a new power pack for it, but its not exactly the same. the one on the motor is a CD3/6 58L 582556, and the one i bought is a CD3 58L 583320. my question is if i solder on the coil feeds...which appears to be the main difference, is it safe to try this power pack on my engine. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you folks!

Hummm.....the only difference is that the 3 cylinder pack may not have the isolator diode.

thanks dhadley. i don't know exactly what the diode is, would it hurt anything to try to use the power pack if necessary or should i just hold onto it for another engine and get the proper one. thanks again for your reply and again i appreciate any and all input. thanks again!
