Power Pack--Definition?

Evening,

Am troubleshooting my 35 hp Johnson's electrical problems. Suspect it is a coil that melted to the block when I had a water pump go out. Expect questions about this if getting a new one doesn't fix it.

Was wondering what function the Power Pack serves int he electrical system.

The power pack sequencially delivers input voltage to each coil.

the power pack is the brain of the motor. always tell us what motor you have there are a lot of 35 rudes. all the way back to the 1950's. why did the coil melt when the water pump was out? if you were running the motor without water pump, and it got hot enough to melt the coil, you have more problems than a power pack.
