I'm new to this forum so please overlook any obvious mistakes.
My question is: I have a 1978 115 HP Johnson and
in the process of a shop orinated tune up. The carbs have been serviced with new kits, new feul
pump, new gas line from built-in gas tank, new spark plugs. The shop mechanic now tells me that the timing cannot be done acurately because one cylinder is not firing and that this is caused
from the powerpack on that side of the motor. He
says the coil for the nonfiring cylinder tests out
OK and that the powerpack is only functioning at
50%. I was under the impression that if a power pack went bad that it would not have any function at all.
I would like to see some comments on this subject.

egbaby
