Just ordered a new power pack and it hasn't arrived yet. Reading the manual it states that you need special tool ({OMC insert tool p/n 322697}to remove and replace the stop switch wire Since i never hook up the stop lanyard can I just eliminate installing this wire if it becomes a problem getting it out and in ??
It also mentions that you have to line-up the crankshaft to allow sensor to clear wheel. Seems to me that it should come off when you remove the 2 bolts.
Evinrude 9.9 hp 4 stroke e10freleu

I seem to remember something like this in my manual as well, except it was to replace my tilt/trim sender. I think I used a very small phillips screwdriver as the insert tool and it worked fine.

Not sure about your other question.

If you eliminate this wire you will not be able to shut the engine down. Use some alcohol to lubricate the opening and you can push it in without a special tool.
