Have a 72 65 Hsp Evinrude that has 12 slots on it. Don't have a book that goes back that far( only to 73 and it's different). Here's the colors for the slots. 1-orange 2-orange 3-orange 4-brown 5-brown/orange 6-black/yellow 7-vacant 8-white/black sensor1 9-white/black sensor2 10-white black sensor3 11-black/white 12-black. Like to know where each one goes, and also what the sensors are all about. Thanks for your help. Skip

You do need the book,but basically,orange goes to the coils,brown and brown/orange are the charge coils,black/yellow is the kill circuit.the black/white...white/black are the sensor leads.You have coil 1,2,3 and sensor 1,2,3 labels on the wires.Black to ground is important.<br /><br />DHP
