I have had my 85 Johnson 140 sitting for a while while I worked on the lower and now I have no spark on the 1/3 bank. 2/4 has strong spark and I have swapped the coils and that's not it. I assume that I have good voltage from the stator b/c 2 cyl's fire but how can I test the timer base circuit for 1/3?

Thanks...

Re: Power Pack

Just swap the leads from the TB. Don't try to start the engine that way - the timing will be way off - but you should be able to see if you're now firing 1/3 and not 2/4.

Re: Power Pack

Thought about trying that but TB leads are on a canon plug. Will have to work out some jumoers I guess...

Re: Power Pack

OK, I'm officially at a loss. I don't know how to check the power pack outputs because they use a canon plug. I guess I could buy a plug and make an adapter. Is there a way to check it with an volt/ohm meter?

Re: Power Pack

You can ck output with a neon tester not very accurate but will show output, to ck output volts properly you need a DVA meter
