Power problems with a 2.3 volvo

I have a 1986 Bayliner with a 2.3l Volvo on a 275 Volvo penta outdrive. My problem is that it looses power when i get more than 2 or 3 people in the boat the bow of the boat just stays up it wont plain out and it just seems like it has no power. I have had it about 6 years and it just started at the end of last season and the start of this one. I am open to any and all sugestions to what the problem could be. I was also wondering what if any other engines would bolt to that outdrive. Thanks for the help. Brad

When was the last full tune up with all new parts (points, condenser, cap, rotor, sparkplugs, fuel filter) and dwell and timing adjusted? When was last carb rebuild?

Lets see points plugs cap and wires was 2 years ago and i have never touched the carb or fuel filter. I wasnt thinking of a fuel problem because it was running strong when i had a light load and it didnt really have a problem till I had weight in the boat, but what do I know haha thats why Im on here asking lol
