power steering fluid

My PS fluid is a orange- ish color. I believe it used to be red. I'm assumeing some water got in. How and what is the fix? I bought some power steering & trim tilt fluid and it's clear (Quicksilver) the OEM stuff was red. Should I go get the stuff from the dealer or is the clear compatible. <br /><br />Everything was working fine on a test trip last weekend and I would like to get this taken care of before the weather here gets nice. <br /><br />The engine is a 4.3 VP gl with sx drive.<br />Thanks Kevin

On Merc's, they indicate that you can use Dextron ATF. I am assuming the red fluid you have now is an ATF. My understanding is that the ATF & PS fluid are compatible.
