Power Steering Fluid?

I have a 1997 Four Winns with a 5.7L Volvo Penta I/O. I need to replace my power steering pump because of the noise it is making.

Has anyone replaced theirs with one from an Autoparts store? If so what part did you use?

Also, i think i may have messed up my pump by putting in Dextron III instead of actual power steering fluid. What fluid does the pump actually take?

Are you sure it is the pump? Could be the belt slipping. Hard to tell just by sound back there. Do you have a lot of black belt dust building up around there?

I dont see any black dust. The reason i say it is the pump, is because when turning it makes a louder sound. I will be checking belts this weekend though.
