...when turned all the way to port side. It doesn't do it going to starboard. I made sure the belt is tight, and the pump has fluid. I watched the pump when doing it, and the pump stops but the belt keeps on going (hence the squeal). Is there anything else I should look for or an adjustment to the steering system I can perform?

78 Wellcraft V20 cuddy, 5.0 Mercruiser, Alpha 1 gen 1.

Thanks fellas.

Don't Crowd it against it's Stops,.........

You're Over-Loading the Pump,+ Causing it to By-pass,+ Bind...........

The boat will Not turn Any Sharper if you turn the wheel Harder..................

It Sounds like Operator Error to Me...........:D

OK, yeah, but I don't exactly count how many times I turn the wheel. When it squeals, I take the pressure off, no problem there. It is kinda emarassing to squeal it as I maneuver to a dock though. I was just wondering if there was an adjustment to keep me from going all the way to the lock, you know, so everybody else doesn't realize the operator IS in error :)
