Power Steering Pump thread?

Does anyone know the thread / diameter of the flared hose that screws into the Power Steering pump on a Mercruiser please?

I need to buy a barbed fitted so I can loop it back to the return on the pump for testing purposes out of the boat.

It’s a 1998 Vortec 4.3.

most early saginaw can-o-ham pumps use the SAE 3/8" Inverted flare (5/8-11 threads) however some newer use a metric

there is a similar thread going from another user. use a section of 3/8" brake line, cut it off, use a small section of hose to tie them together.
