When I tilt motor up it very slowly drops down..what could it be and what would I have to replace and how much?

Don't seem to find any leaks on the connections.

I also got the manual I don't know if that will tell me something.

Thanks....

Re: power tilt/trim bleeds down

99 out of 100 times it is your valve body. If it was your trim piston ring blowing out from exposure to ATF then your engine probably wouldn't lift at all. Every other common problem has fluid leak.

IMO, it's not worth DIY. The parts and tools are too hard to find and the work is too intricate. It costs you $100-$150 to get it completely rebuilt, $140-$200 to swap it out for a reman, and $300 to replace with new. You may be able to find the new ones right here on iboats.

You should have the motor serviced at same time. Motor seals are made from same material as the seals that cause bleed down. The motor and the valve body often fail within a couple years of each other. Putting new seals on it before the rust starts is a very cheap way to get 10 more years.
