power tilt trim brushes

tilt trim working sometimes so i stripped it and brushes looked ok i polished up the armeture and packed the brushes cause they were a bit worn it then goes great for 1 minit then stops can any one tell me down where the brushes are there is a set of mechanical points should these be open or closed prior to reassembley?

think i got it sussed the mechanical points down at the brushes are actually a mettalic strip that opens when the moter is put under load and cutts the trim moter out . i just soldered the points together but i guess ill have to be carefull when triming moter not to exceed its limit or ill burn the moter out heres hoping

your correct. its a thermal overload protection.<br /> you just bypassed it.<br /> good luck and keep posting
