I have a 2000 Yamaha 150 vmax on a 2000 Skeeter 180. The power trim/tilt works perfectly but now when I switch the main power switch on the dash the motor wants to lower on its own. :'(

Re: power tilt/trim

Sounds like a bad trim switch. Suggest trying to check the switch for debris rust etc, or replacing it. After market switches are OK as long as the load rating is a match and it is H2O resistant.

The switch on the remote works and the one on the engine works perfect without the power switch turned on the dash. When I turn on the switch for the main power is when the motor wants to lower on its own. ( solenoid? )

It will be a switch shorting. Most often one is the bow mounted one by the boat company.

It could be Solenoid, but when they go they normally only click, not stick. Does the tilt stop at some point, or does it bottom out? If you can get it to stop by using the other switch, then I still say switch. Let us know.
