Need a looksee. Any guys with Merc Towers roughly late 70's to early 80's. Can you see if there is a direct wire/cable to your main battery that is purple?

And maybe another one that is white or gray with a green stripe.

My '87 In line 6 has a purple lead that is switched (used to feed the Autoblend System) and a gray that comes from the rectifier to feed the tachometer. Don't have any with a green strip. And the only lead direct to he battery is the 4 guage wire to the starter solinoid. If this help any.
