Does anybody know if I can buy a trim and tilt kit to convert a '96 Johnson 40 hp from manual? This has the gas shock assist and it looks like I can just buy certain pieces that bolt on to make it power.
Your best bet would be a complete aftermarket Trim Tilt assembly. CMC makes a good unit but it is expensive! You can find used OEM units on ebay but the better looking units tend to be a few hundred dollars and you end up with an old used unit that may or may not last a season or two. You would also need all the wiring and relay box to make it work..
