Power trim and tilt

Hi I have a 1984 75 horse merc, mounted on a 15ft. skeeeter bass boat. When I park the boat in the garage with the enginge tilted a few inches away from the floor, after about an hour the lower unit skeg is sitting on the floor. So the trim unit is slipping over time when stored, could this be attributed to low fluid level or what? Iam not familiar with power trim units and any advice is welcome.<br />Thanks in advance.

my old 40 horse used to do that... the problem was a bad seal on the pump... plus the fluids were low.
