not sure this is the correct forum to discuss this, but I didn't really see any other. I have a 1983 evinrude 35hp with a power tilt (what a life saver), I don't think it is a trim also. I noticed it was having a delayed reaction so I assumed it was a seal. I took it to 3 hydraulic shops and they were scare of it, so I went for it. I were at it in a dumb ass way and damaged the housing a little and had to drill out the "manual letdown valve". When I final got it open I discovered the motor was full of water. So I started looking for parts and a diagram. Only to find out the parts I need are not available. I need the vale body both halves the manual letdown valve and the gasket kit. I've looked online till I'm blue in the face, and see everything but the model I have. I HAVE the Prestolite HYA-5110 and the HYA-5010. any suggestions?
Also, can I but a different model (with brackets) on?
Plus I can't believe the price of these things.

Not a common item on 35 HP models.---Oddball item too.----But look into an after market unit.---Google ---cmc trim tilt----and see what options you have.

So this tilt is out dated, and damaged it when taking is apart. Had i went at it using my head i could have saved it. Something new to replace it, like a CMC or Panther was $600 to $1000. I didn't want to pay that price. I started looking around and came across a 12v mechanical drive actuator with new toggle switch. It is water proof (IP68M). Was able to reuse my monting brackets with a little modification. It is a little slow but i think i can live with that ( i hope so). The other thing is i dosn't have a manual bypass release. I'm not real pleased about that. It's a Progressive Automations model PA-10, $187 switch was $31.

That's not a trim/tilt unit, it's a linear actuator ith home made brackets. There not designed to get wet.

Search "linear actuator" and you will find them

That is a linear actuator...the bracket are the the original evinrude brackets that came with the Prestolite tilt that i replaced. Read my first thread when i was looking for parts for it.
