I just bought a used '99 25hp mercury (tracker).
It has elect. start and remote control. I would like to find a used power tilt/ trim setup for the motor. Is there one made for the motor by Mercury? If so,
what would be a good source? Money is a factor.
Thanks in advance,
Doug

Re: Power trim for 25hp?

I think the only way your going to get T&T on the motor is to get a aftermarket jackplate with T&T built in...about $500-$800. I have the same motor and well, never really need T&T...set my depth finder to 3' and when it alarms..I back off and troll through. What I did do though, is you know how when you want to lift the motor you have to reach behind it to lift the lever to lift the motor? Which is a pain in the $^&. Well, if you lift the motor, you will see the little jaws that catch the tilt pin. Got a little piece if string, tied is around the around the little cross piece of plastic thats between the two jaws, ran the string between the motor and the transom, and tied a little washer to it. Now all I have to do is reach back, pull the washer, and grab and lift the motor. No more leaning over the back of the boat to release the motor....Made fishing trips a whole lot more simple, and well it's not as nice as T&T, but it works pretty dang good. BTW...if anyone would like to see of how I did mine, I would be more than happy to take some pics and post them.

I asked the same question a week ago, nobody wants to discuss adding T&T. From what I've been able to find, you have to go aftermarket such as the CNC, or Panther I think its called. Johnson/evenrude has a nice kit that fits their motors without having the 5.5-8 inches setback. No idea if Merc makes such a product, if they do I haven't been able to find any information.
