Hello

Have a trim motor and the 2 cylinders that fit a 1972 Mercury 800 - but need the hoses. Is there a good place to get these at a good price that someone could recommend?? Thanks

I've had NAPA build a set of hydraulic hoses for an I/O before. Also, do you have a marine salvage yard nearby?

Re: Power trim hoses

Hi thanks - boat only freshwater use. I was under the impression that these were sold as a 'set' for this unit but that's not what I'm finding. Seem quite pricey individually through some local shops - how much should these things cost? I have seen a few used sets go on ebay included with pumps for $150-$200. I'll try the salvage idea too.

Re: Power trim hoses

Just a followup question to this - I'm being told to ONLY get new hoses. Is this true? Maybe I should rephrase that (because of course the recommendation would be to go new) - Is there a reason that used hoses should not be used - even if they are in good shape? I'm looking at a set of pretty good looking used hoses for this for $100, and the seller has guaranty of no leaks. Worth it? Or, as a shop is telling me out here, am I looking for trouble? Thanks

Re: Power trim hoses

dceonline, I would think used hoses are OK to use. My hoses are 29 years old, and I have replaced only one so far.

These hoses are the ones that feed the twin rams that are positioned on the outside of the engine? Here in oz they are about $100 new from marine power international. (original) given the exchange rate $100 second hand doesn't sound so good
