I have a 2001 350 MAG MPI Horizon with a bravo drive. The wiring harness for the power trim is corroded and needs to be replaced. Its basically three wires into a male plug, and three wires out of the female plug that connect to the up and down selenoids on Trim motor and the third goes through a 20amp fuse and I believe back to the trim switch.

My question is, do I really need to pay $50 for the wiring harness from Mecruiser? Is there an aftermarket product that costs less? What does the "plug do other than make it easier to install the trim motor?

Re: Power trim motor harness

You can splice the wires and bypass the plug completely.
