I have a 1976 Johnson 135 v4. What if my power tilt goes out, is there any way to bypass the hydraulics and lift the engine to get it home safely ?

Yes, there is a relief screw on the side of the tilt mechanism. You would loosen the screw and lift the motor by hand.

Thank you for your info. Do I fill with fluid from the top cap ? there are two screws in the side, are they both releases ? I have provided pictures.
